Pictures for this blog entry were taken using Sony DSC-H3 camera while I was trying out this so-called “prosumer” camera before switching to DSLR photography. I made up my mind by picking up Canon 1000D, after testing out with Nikon D60, D80 and Canon 350D, 450D. At last, no more pictures from my V3xx and N73!

This is probably the best Pan Mee in town, recommended few years back by Eve from apple4today. Strategically located in the heart of KL city, it is just a walk across the road from Tune Hotel of Air Asia at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. Enter a small road on the opposite side, I reckon it is behind Lorong Tunku Abdul Rahman 2. You will see a stretch of old shoplots and you are spot on!

I would say they have a few special features for their Pan Mee. Unfortunately, the serving is pretty small for RM4.50 per bowl which comes in a standard size. No size up, hehe.

Feature #1 - The homemade noodle, or the “Pan Mee” itself is of distinct quality. As you can see, they even have their own machine to produce the pan mee from the molded flour paste. Hence it has some notable shape almost similar to “Spaghetti 3″ rather than the traditional flat and sticky Pan Mee noodle.

Feature #2 - The dried chilly paste. The is secret of their delicate taste of Pan Mee. If you mix the chilly paste at your desired portion with the Pan Mee, the paste will somehow “bring out” the sensation of the original Pan Mee. That is according to the shop operator themselves who recommend all the guest to mix the pan mee with chilly till perfection.

Feature #3 - The half boiled egg. This is yet another nice part of the pan mee. You can opt to stir it together with the noodle or eat them separately.

If you are in a hurry, this is not a suitable place for a quick lunch. Mainly due to the lack of parking as well as the enormous traffic jam at Chow Kit. What’s more when you see that this restaurant is always fully occupied. If you are willing to wait with patience, then it will be very satisfying, trust me!

If it is too far away from you, perhaps you can also check out their new outlet at Pandah Indah as well.
