Lack of updates, reason? Mid Semester Exam (when is it gonna end?) Hmm…
Alrite guys, I was just being relieved of the examination period, at least got 2 weeks before I start to get stressed with my Finals and thesis thingy. Yes, just a quick stress reliever - food. Izzi KL it is. An Italian and Asian cuisine this time.
Yea, I missed their 70% discount promo last December. But fret not, now they have this Everyday Low Price menu! From an average of RM60 per pax in 2007, it’s now only RM16 for each in 2009! So, it’s kinda affordable isn’t it? Behold.
Needless to say, we’re here for the Italian food: Pizza and pasta… certainly not gonna order Char Koay Teow or Laksa Penang lah! Click here for their Everyday Low Price Menu (in pdf file). (3MB)
I didn’t manage to snap any nice pics of the restaurant. Partly cos most of the sections are closed, lights are dimmed and there ain’t many guests around the shop. I prefer giving you guys pics taken from izzipizza.com and indeed it was a nice place to be - sadly cos tak ade sambutan hangat, so Section Closed. Lame.
Straight to the food shall we?

This plate needs no introduction - Spaghetti Bolognese. RM7.00
Another pasta! Penne Marinara - RM8.00
My favourite. Lasagna Bolognese - RM9.00
Dear’s combo, best deal in the promo list. Chicken Steak with Pasta - RM12.00
Jay’s Macaroni Cheese with Mushroom - RM9.50
Besto Pizza. Beef ‘n Izzi is da name. RM14.00
Group shot before we left… still feeling hungry though. The price is reasonably cheap but the portion is way too small, at least for the guys. For the girls, they said it’s “fine” for them… blah blah blah LOL
Anyway, it’s just nice for the tummy to go with some chilling beer at Spring Bar, Quattro. Followed suite with KLCC night photoshoot. What a way to release myself from exam madness.

It’s 5 people actually…u forgot the photographer hehe… so 5 main course and 1 pizza to share… just nice..
What you pay is what you get. Don’t expect a burst of flavours in your mouth for a RM7 pasta. It’s just a decent-enough looking place where broke college students bring their dates, hoping to impress them with the posh decor and unpronounceable dishes, with aspirations to score later on in the evening.
I don’t know about the Izzi in Bukit Bintang but the Izzi in Uptown is absolutely horrendous when it comes to their service. You wait for ages for a table and then the waiters looked like they were plucked from a Mat Rempit enclave in Chow Kit with absolutely no clue of their purpose, or the difference between penne and a panna cotta. Hate to use this again, but the panna cotta had the texture of semen and tasted like diluted but lumpy condensed milk. Of course, I had fun freaking my dinner companion out while playing with my food.
You want good pasta, go to Porto Romano in TTDI, Italiannies and to a certain extent, the Duck Confit Olio in Delicious is, well, beh pai lah.
i still want the tiramisu…
i’m not full yet!
regina: wah, thanks for the tips… i will go test one by one heheheee
bibi: let’s go! hehe
