It’s been a while since I blogged. My final hurdle of my 17 years of education being the only reason I was away for so long. A very long hiatus indeed. Well, I’m back with more food as promised.
If you’re wondering around PJ town and got a headache when searching for dinner, a satisfying Wan Than Mee usually does the job. This time, I bring to you FLYING Wan Than Mee. Why fly?
This is why I said so. The chef practically threw the noodle so high up in the air, in a way to make the noodle more spongy and tastier? I dunno lah, but heck overall, the noodle is damn nice.
When I say nice, I got proof one, k? U see the people thriving to get a piece of the noodle?
Usually the business is smooth flowing, I’d say they got very effective workers, you don’t have to wait very long to be served. After all, it’s more to like neighbourhood business, very relaxed compared to those commercialized hawker centres rushing around and grabbing customers at all cost.
The curry chicken. A little different sight from what we have in Penang. PJ’s Wan Than Mee stalls usually sell curry chicken too. I rate this as very mediocre though.
Things start to get to my nerve. This Wan Than is just… juicy! Silky smooth!

The close member of wan than is this Sui Kow. Filled with succulent pork and shrimp, the outer skin is just perfect! Awesome. Rating = God like.
Wan Than Mee definitely comes in pair with Chicken Legs with Mushrooms, right? Rating = Best!

Last but not least… The Ultimate Flying Wan Than Mee with Char Siu.
Overall, the noodle is spongy, nice! The dark soya sauce blends well with the noodle too. Soups pretty clear and tasty. Char Siu quite succulent and nicely barbecued. I’d say this is the best Wan Than Mee stall by far, after 4 years in KL.
Opening hours is roughly 6pm till 10-11pm? I’m not so sure though, it depends, according to the workers LOL. It is located just beside the market… or further down the road from the IndoMee Super Duper Famous Seapark Nasi Lemak. Got a better picture now?
Signing off for now. See you again… coming up next? Thai Food!

I went there before. U know y da wan than mee so spongy? Coz the owner dip it in cold water after ‘flying’ the mee. I think da purpose is to chill the mee.

i stayed nearby tat stall. are u familiar with food delicacies n taste?, or just the stomach hunger do the thinkingfor u? do u know the how the process of making char siew, if u seen it b4, i’ve bet u dun treat this as ur routine food consume. this stall serve OK OK food, nothing to fancy about, just plain wan tan mee as usual. i’ve eat far better than this.
izit a fair price u get from this stall - OK OK!not exactly!. is quite pricy.
services from the stall - WORST! u must look at those waiters, sweat all over the body and dripping into ur food. no proper uniform.
char siew - OK OK, boleh masuk perut.
drinks - this is WORST of all, 3 choices limited.
msg contain - WORST! is bloody high. after u eat, for few hours quench for thirst.
cleanliness - WORST! dun sit over the table n wait for ya food, go see where ur food comes from coz that food will endup in ur stomach.
Health concern for better living. what u eat is what u goin to be. Eat Healthy. my verdict on that stall. Scale (3.5/10)
Celyn: Aww..my bad for not posting up the address. Well it has just shifted down the road. As the blogpost mentioned Seapark, it is very near to Maybank.
Law: Thanks for your valuable comment. Appreciate that. I think we have very different definition for food and taste. Thanks for highlighting your views to me and all other readers. A great way to heads up on issues concerning health and hygiene.
To Law,
Man, take a break. >,< it’s the author’s point of view on how he felt about the stall and food. I’m sure he is not trying to convince us that he is a food connoisseur, and that this is the best Wan Tan Mee around.
Yes, hygiene is always a plus, but hey clean food doesn’t mean won’t kill ya? talking bout those instant noodles or packaged tidbits, more people get obesity or cancer than dying of eating from road side stalls??
Appreciate your opinion on the food because that’s your sentiment, but don’t go too hard on the blogger will ya? Us the reader can do our own judgment.
