It was suppose to be post final exam farewell luncheon. After 4 gruelling years of uni life, it has finally come to an end and come to think of a place to have a proper farewell lunch,… Jaya One - nearest, most convenient, and many choices.

Of we went… It supposed to be Kissaten Japanese Restaurant but too bad it was closed on Monday. The group decided to opt for Kinnaree, the restaurant I am so afraid to enter cos seemingly from exterior, the restaurant looked just too classy for my pocket.

I was late actually, not in time to stage a proper protest though, LOL… Nah, just kidding… I was freaking hungry - slept only 1.5 hrs (0.5 hrs for 3 separate session for the whole day) just to get myself ready for my final exam paper, with no subtle meal to accompany… Just plain water. Gosh.

Still stuck in zombie-exam mode, I blurrily brought upon my tool, da 1000D and with fingers crossed, they have an affordable set lunch menu for me. Spot on, they really got the set menu!

Posh, classy Thai restaurant it was. I saw the menu, I don’t even dare to open it. Quickly browsed through the set menu. Not too bad, RM20 per person on average… I was really half awake, didn’t even bother to order, only for Dear to settle my lunch pick of the day.

Strange. The whole restaurant was like… empty. With only their waiters wondering like lost souls, we were pampered with their super-fast services. I seriously think they over-hired them. Simply too many of workers there.

Off to the food, shall we?

For your information, the set lunch is purely set lunch - in the sense that it comes with a main course and also a complimentary drink. No appetizer, no dessert. Sorry.

The free flow lemongrass drink. I bet one glass is more than enough LOL.

The jubilant graduated coursemate toasting. Yum Seng! Lemongrass Seng!

If you think that the lemongrass was too much for you, you can opt to replace with other drinks. A discount of RM2 is given for your set lunch. Dear’s pick was this Ice Blended Mango Juice.

The first set lunch. Honestly, I messed up with the names of the set lunch menu already. Still in exam blurrness mode I guess.

Set Lunch B - The Green Curry Chicken Rice set.

My pick, Set Lunch C - The Spicy Seafood Rice Set. Noo too bad though. Generous portion of seafood though. But I still prefer the last and ultimate set lunch pick…

The Ultimate Seafood Tom Yam with Rice Noodle. Spicyness is just perfect, tomyam taste was thick and lil “lemak” though, but I like the rice noodle the most. Dear rated it among the best she had back in Bangkok. I guess that summed it all.

Well, overall I would say it was a nice place to visit although things are a little pricey. Moreover, I’ve officially upgraded myself from being an undergraduate to an official unemployed person a.k.a “penganggur”!

*Coming Up Next… Uncle Julian Cheng’s Special Beef Noodle!

  8. The first date that I ever paid for was my first date ever with my first girlfriend. We went to a Thai restaurant, the best Thai restaurant in our area that offered fine dining. I’ll never forget that night that we ate at that Thai restaurant. That wasn’t just fine dining or quick service or exotic Asian cuisine. That was really a very memorable very enjoyable very eye-opening night, one that I’ll never forget.

  9. Worst thai food restaurant, not sure how they could survive in Jaya One, their thai food is not authentic at all, and very pricey, basically, it is better to just stay at home and cook yourself, rather than wasting your pocket money and time in this so so disapointed restaurant. I am betting they will be close for business very soon if Malaysian people would get smart in eating good thai food.
