First of all, I just wanna say Malaysia memang boleh. Slowmyx is really keeping me frustrated with their incredible speed… It took me 30 minutes just to load Google’s main page. How about that for a RM99 per month service I have to pay every month? Even better, my web host - TapakWeb is giving me insanely godlike services with downtime more than you can ever imagine. My website and mail servers are running as usual but it could be down for the next 24 hrs for no reasons. Worst is when they actually suspended my account saying that I did not pay up and asking me to contact billing/support staff that does not exist! Thumbs up Malaysia!
Now let’s go back to the food, shall we? My sincere apologies for the backdated posts that’s coming up within these few days. This time around I’ll be bring you guys an in depth focus of food in PJ, the famous hangout places for UM students. Begin with this special beef noodles from Uncle Cheng, from Kluang, Johor.
Located at Restaurant Khasiat, Seksyen 17, it is just somewhere close to Restaurant How Yee Kee and Kim Seng Cafe. Uncle Julian Cheng operated this stall, speaking real cool English with a motto:
Why bring home a cow? Let our special noodle do the moo!
Let’s check it out what he’s got to offer!

It was suppose to be post final exam farewell luncheon. After 4 gruelling years of uni life, it has finally come to an end and come to think of a place to have a proper farewell lunch,… Jaya One - nearest, most convenient, and many choices.
Of we went… It supposed to be Kissaten Japanese Restaurant but too bad it was closed on Monday. The group decided to opt for Kinnaree, the restaurant I am so afraid to enter cos seemingly from exterior, the restaurant looked just too classy for my pocket.
I was late actually, not in time to stage a proper protest though, LOL… Nah, just kidding… I was freaking hungry - slept only 1.5 hrs (0.5 hrs for 3 separate session for the whole day) just to get myself ready for my final exam paper, with no subtle meal to accompany… Just plain water. Gosh.

It’s been a while since I blogged. My final hurdle of my 17 years of education being the only reason I was away for so long. A very long hiatus indeed. Well, I’m back with more food as promised.
If you’re wondering around PJ town and got a headache when searching for dinner, a satisfying Wan Than Mee usually does the job. This time, I bring to you FLYING Wan Than Mee. Why fly?

This is why I said so. The chef practically threw the noodle so high up in the air, in a way to make the noodle more spongy and tastier? I dunno lah, but heck overall, the noodle is damn nice. Read the rest of this entry »

Honestly, whenever I am at One Utama Shopping Complex for some Japanese food, I am often left with problems deciding which place to eat. There’s simply too many choices!
Sushi King, Sushi Zanmai, Sushi Groove, Nippon Yataimura, Sakae Sushi, Shogun Saisaki, Shojikiya, Teppanyaki and Yoshinoya… Make your choice, please.
Many a time, I am way too hungry and I opted to go to the nearest one. This time, Dear selected Sushi Groove. Coincidently, it’s our post-valentine dinner. Ooo, I totally enjoyed the ambience.

A familiar sight, the restaurant is pretty much empty during weekdays. Don’t ask me why, but I like the privacy there… and the friendly-&-prompt services.

Lack of updates, reason? Mid Semester Exam (when is it gonna end?) Hmm…

Alrite guys, I was just being relieved of the examination period, at least got 2 weeks before I start to get stressed with my Finals and thesis thingy. Yes, just a quick stress reliever - food. Izzi KL it is. An Italian and Asian cuisine this time.

My sincere apologies for the lack of update for the previous 2 weeks. It’s been hell of a week with Desmond-t going thru difficult spells of his life. Mid Semester tests came in three’s in-a-week, thesis stalled due to theorectically defying experiments, job hunting with either no-replies and rejections plus pain in the @$$ assignments and lab reports!
Right away after these ordeal, Desmond-t did had his stress reliever, of course with lotsa of food, inclusive the duck rice at Kepong Baru, dinner at Izzi KL, chilling out at Spring Lounge - Club Quattro and many more! But heck, let’s do some overdue posts okay? Here we go, the 100°C Steamboat Restaurant at Niu Ze Xui (NZX) Commercial Centre, Ara Damansara.

If KL got nice Thai style seafood at Nong & Jimmy, in Penang we have Khuntai! It’s not a new place but certainly a well known place among Penangites, especially for those who live in Butterworth. Desmond-t had been to this restaurant for more than 5 times previously but unfortunately they were all camera-less dining experience. Recently during the 2nd day of CNY, Desmond-t joined Bi’s family for a feast in this Khuntai Thai Seafood Restaurant.

It was another long weekend as the Thaipusam holiday was celebrated in most states across the nation. Desmond-t took this opportunity for a short adventure in Pulau Ketam, a must-go island in West Malaysia if you were to experience nice and cheap seafood delicacies. As you might have noticed earlier, this is a food cum going places entry. I shall begin with the glutinous one first, then only our jalan-jalan trip around the island (although I did it the other way round during my actual trip).
Before we go any further, let me share with you my overall food experience:
Pulau Ketam’s seafood totally dominated Kuala Selangor’s seafood without any doubt. The following is the reason why I was so attracted and in love with the seafood there.

The first snack I had was ultimately the best - The La La Chien (Omelette with La La). Frankly, there’s a lot of stalls selling this Oyster Omellete and “La La Chien”. At list 5 stalls on the main street itself.

This is a Chinese restaurant, as depicted by the name - wholly owned by a Chinese national too. I was pretty surprised when I first entered this restaurant. There’s really a lot of China men dining and speaking away their dialects. For the first time, Hokkien was over ruled in Penang, only at this Tang Dynasty Restaurant.

Well, the cook, the boss and other staffs are all from China. I began to reminisce the food I had back in Zhuhai… Right away we did ordered a range of quite similar food we had last time over there. It turned to be a pleasant surprise to us!
