Can’t decide on where to dine or eat some special sumptuos super yummy food? Worse still when you wanted to eat some particular food but don’t know which place sells the best food for that category.
Need some directions and avoid being disappointed from not being able to reach the shop?
You are definitely at the right place! Here at my Food Hunt segment, you will be linked to all my previous Jalan Jalan Cari Makan (JJCM) trip a.k.a Food Hunting right across the BolehLand Malaysia even up until certain places around the globe.
My main focus of course centers around Penang, where I was born and bred and not forgetting KL, the place I am currently residing. As much as I love to eat, in fact I live to eat, I would like to share my views on the food across the region and help you guys go the these places which suite your demand and occasion.
Penang
Nasi Kandar Kampung Melayu
- The legendary and yet the best Nasi Kandar for breakfast in Penang. Not too spicy… suitable for all ages!
Thai Seafood at Khuntai, Permatang Tengah
- Nice ambience, perfect seafood, affordable pricing. The place to be for Thai sensation seafood.
Tang Dynasty Imperial Noodle Restaurant, near Menara UMNO, Penang
- The chef hails all the way from China to serve you the ultimate homemade ramen and Chinese delicacies.
Hun Sai Fish Bee Hoon Soup, Paya Terubong, Penang
- Just after Kek Lok Si Temple, dine at the local road side stall for the clear soupy bee hoon soup.
Beef Wan Than Mee, Chulia Street, Penang
- Succulent beef slices in the premium Wan Than Mee - a pure local attraction one of the oldest street in Penang.
Food & Christmas in Penang
- A rather disappointing food and party package by Bayview Georgetown for Christmas Eve dinner.

- A superb seafood paradise during weekends. Parkroyal Hotels are famous for their fresh seafood, especially the lobsters and oysters.
Sungai Pinang Hawker Center
- Perfect place for breakfast. Nice blend of local delicacies. Behold of the enormous crowd daily!
Obake-Ya: Prison Restaurant
- Serves Japanese food in a concept of being in a dungeon or prison. Nice food decoratives for sure.
Kuala Lumpur / Selangor
Winsoon Cafe - Ah Soon Fish Head Mee, Kuchai Lama
- All time favourite KL-style fish head noodle. A lil sourish and milkish, total difference from Penang style!
Uncle Cheng’s Special Beef Noodles, Seksyen 17, PJ
- Taste the southern Malaysian delicacy… the dried lai fun beef noodle at an affordable price.
Kinnaree Thai Restaurant, Jaya One, PJ
- Lavish and yet reasonably priced set lunch menu at the seclusive Thai restaurant at Jaya One.

- A rather famous restaurant in China but still a new concept in Malaysia. It’s a hot pot and steamboat combination! Try the Dinosaur Hot Pot! Extream spicy is the ultimate dish!
Restaurant Kin Kin - Chilly Pan Mee, Chow Kit
- Best place to dine in KL city for a local spicy pan mee. Specialy homemade noodle with dried chilly mixed to perfection!
River View Seafood, Kuala Selangor Firefly Reserve
- A not so recommended seafood although has been highly rated from other reviews. Nice place to visit as for the Firefly Park. Breathtaking experience!
Pepper Lunch Restaurant, The Pavilion KL
- New concept of casual steak house, cook-your-own style with plenty of variety. Slightly expensive but worth a visit. Food is recommendable.
Fullhouse at Niu Ze Xui, Ara Damansara
- Western food and local delicacies with new Lifestyle Store and Cafe concept.
Lai Choon Bah Kut Teh, Klang
- Soup and dry Bah Kut Teh, non-halal, exceptionally great taste.
Gasoline Cafe, Look Out Point, Hulu Langat
- Western food with local delicacies with very nice view of the whole KL city.
Kepong Yong Tau Foo: Makan Lagi!
- Kepong’s specialty Yong Tau Foo with various side dishes, try the Paper Wrapped Chicken!
Nong & Jimmy Thai Barbecue Seafood, Near Jalan Ampang
- Best known for Thai style seafood and cuisine. Serves yummylicious Tom Yam and signature BBQ Crabs.
Naili’s Place, Sentul
- A nice concept of huts and tree top dining area, serves local delicacies and also some western delights.
Revolving Restaurant, KL Tower
- Buffet style with picturesque beauty of the scenic KL city. Dine at highest altitude in the heart of the city.
Sky Bar VS Luna Bar
- A comparison of KL’s top two night hangout places. Perfect ambience, great music and chilling atmosphere.
Jogoya, Starhill Gallery - Seventh Heaven
- Japanese style buffet with superb list of seafood. Expensive but definitely worth the money.

Ming Court HK Dim Sum, Ipoh
- Specialty in dim sum, variety of choices and perfect for morning breakfast. Non-halal.
