It was another long weekend as the Thaipusam holiday was celebrated in most states across the nation. Desmond-t took this opportunity for a short adventure in Pulau Ketam, a must-go island in West Malaysia if you were to experience nice and cheap seafood delicacies. As you might have noticed earlier, this is a food cum going places entry. I shall begin with the glutinous one first, then only our jalan-jalan trip around the island (although I did it the other way round during my actual trip).
Before we go any further, let me share with you my overall food experience:
Pulau Ketam’s seafood totally dominated Kuala Selangor’s seafood without any doubt. The following is the reason why I was so attracted and in love with the seafood there.

The first snack I had was ultimately the best - The La La Chien (Omelette with La La). Frankly, there’s a lot of stalls selling this Oyster Omellete and “La La Chien”. At list 5 stalls on the main street itself.

Yes, due to popular demand to post for CNY updates, I decided to defer my Tang Dynasty Imperial Noodle Restaurant review and I proudly bring to you this post. It’s a Local Food cum Going Places review instead.
It was my last day in Penang and it was also the Sixth Day of CNY before returning to the plain boring uni life in KL. So, no more procrastinating and off I went to the ever famous Kek Lok Si Temple.
Wondering why I said “procrastinating”? Well, you should be well versed with how the usual activities during CNY rhymes. Visiting, reunions, meet ups, g***ling etc. Finally, everyone began to get dispersed from Penang and I got some time off to travel on my own.

Co-incidently, Mom just got discharged from hospital and off we went for a lighter meal. On the way up to Air Hitam, where the Kek Lok Si Temple is located, we decided to take a detour to Paya Terubong for Hun Sai Fish Bee Hoon Soup.

*Desmond-t always bring to you honest reviews - this time, do expect a rather negative food review*
It’s my 4th year in KL and finally I made my way to Kuala Selangor famous firefly reserve. There’s only a few places in Malaysia where fireflies are spotted in large numbers and this is one of them (apart of Nibong Tebal and another one in Negeri Sembilan, as what I know).

*Update* Desmond-t will be posting his X’mas food entries within this few days.
After reading about so many German food post from fellow food bloggers a.k.a “Floggers” throughout the web, I can’t help but to post my very own version of German food entry. I have not been to any of the famous local German restaurants yet, be it at Ingolf Kneipe in Penang, or the Bavarian Bierhaus at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara.

But one thing is for sure, the delighting taste of the German food from this very special restaurant in Sydney still lingers in my memories. Although it’s been close to 3 years, this backdated post is still my best experience of a German dining. Let’s go to the Löwenbräu Keller Restaurant at The Rocks, Sydney, Australia!

Ever heard of whitewater rafting? If you know and heard of it, or even seen it on movies or over the web, will ever consider trying it? Desmond-t seriously recommends this extreme sport to those who are willing to face endurance challenge and mind-boggling drops at various levels of creeks.
Venturing Down The "Kiss Drop"... Too fast, too furious! Extreme adventure at its best!
“Wikipedia defines whitewater rafting as a challenging recreational activity utilizing a raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water. This is usually done on whitewater or different degrees of rough water, in order to thrill and excite the raft passengers. The development of this activity as a leisure sport has become popular since the mid 1970s.”

The first thing when you hear the word “Macao” or “Macau”, what does your brain interpret?
Honestly, it is none other than C-A-S-I-N-O, rite?
FYI, Macau consistst of three islands, The Macau Peninsula as the main island and also The Isles of Taipa (Cotai Strip) and Coloane that are closely linked by bridges. This Special Administration Region (S.A.R) of Macao is indeed famous of being the tourist spot for gambling and gaming. Otherwise, it is also known as the “Las Vegas” of Asia. The latest addition of casino is of course The Venetian Macao, yet another multi-million investment by Las Vegas tycoon Sheldon Adelson.
There’s so many casinos in this tourism-based island. Every 5 mins of walk around the Macao Peninsula, you will bump into another entrance of casino. Even when you walked into a hotel, you will eventually be led into the casino first, before you can get yourself registered for a room. Gambling comes first, then only accomodation.
The best thing is that the hotel concierge and the casino stewards really treat you with first class services, even if you are not gambling, or just pretending to be gambling. They serve you with fruit juices and snacks, all free of charge, just as long as you are eligible to enter the casino. Nice huh? Myself and my family went to most of the well known casinos like The Venetian Macao, MGM Grand, Wynn, Casino Lisboa, Grand Lisboa Casino. Just entertain ourselves with some petty bets, so that I can proudly tell my friends and relatives that I’ve gambled in Macao before! LOL

At last, I managed to spend some time to blog about my travel. Should have blogged about this Macao trip of mine long time ago. Let me begin with the planning part.
Trip Objective: Food Galore and Budget Travelling
For a budget trip, as usual, Air Asia provides the cheapest air ticket all the way from LCCT in Sepang to Macao International Airport. Needless to say, I managed to get my return tickets for roughly around RM300++ of which I booked 3 months prior to my trip.
Photo Credit: AirHostess.info - p/s Look at RM9.99, not the chicks!
Most people would take this budget airline transit before making their way ultimately to Hong Kong as this is rather a cheaper alternative if you don’t want to spend extra money for travelling on a direct flight. Not for my case, my trip does not include Hong Kong as my mom, my elder brother and I decided to spend more time travelling in Macao and Zhuhai in this 4D 3N trip. So, 2 days Zhuhai, 2 days Macao… just nice. Read the rest of this entry »

This place has been the talking point of the town for quite sometime. How can I ever give this place a miss?
The post-examination syndrome officially kicked off last week. The food hunting began 2 weeks before my exam actually ended… and I bet more adventures of Desmond-t is going to fill this blog real soon.
Straight to NZX Commercial Centre, a new hyped hangout area located in Ara Damansara. You might heard of this place similar to the one in Singapore called “Niu Ze Xui” in Mandarin or Ngau Zhe Shuey” in Cantonese. A concept of open-air commercial centre whereby you can shop, dine and exhibit events for people of all ages.
If you ain’t got no idea how to get to this place, fret not. It’s right opposite Kelana Jaya Putra LRT Station and before you reach Giant at LDP highway. Still not good enough? Go to SaiMatKong’s blog or if you are so lost, watch his YouTube video map on how to go to NZX. So, if you still fail to reach this place, I suggest you make a u-turn, go back home and sleep. That’d be ideal.
Initially, the driving force for me to go to NZX is this Fullhouse Lifestyle Store and Cafe. At first glance, you’d probably think that why on earth that that there’s so many people flocking in a store that sells household decoratives. Why some are just sitting there and chatting?

There’s so many people that you even have to stand and queue before you can be seated. Fine, it was a Sunday night, with some Disney Lantern Exhibition going on.

Many of you would have heard of this place. Yes, desmond-t is going to bring to you his version of Look Out Point, Hulu Langat. Do expect nice KL views, attractions and food galore from this place. A perfect hangout place, for the young and old. Last Saturday it is, a perfect time to go to The Look Out Point in the night as it rained cats and dogs in the evening. Immediately, the skies emerged as clear as it is after several spells of hazy atmosphere. What a time for a drive to this hillside hangout place.

Jianz just bought a new digital camera, so this outing’s photos were taken from his brand new Olympus 850 SW camera. With 8MP and shock proof and 3-meters waterproof camera, he is still learning to fully utilize his camera. This is the best result of the night, taken by ShiMikY over the night mode. Not bad for me, at least.
