Many floggers have blogged about this restaurant. Now, it’s my turn to give my 2 cents for this highly rated and popular Thai cuisine restaurant in Seksyen 17, Petaling Jaya. As you guys always notice, myself and my the other half are always hunting for new-cheap-delicious eateries all over the place and so happen when we found out about this place.

A meal for two, you usually can’t find a lot of variety for sure. Yet, one or two main dishes could normally conclude whether it is worth visiting the restaurant. For more info about this restaurant, surf their very own restaurant’s website here. Read the rest of this entry »

I’m kicking off with the new series of PJ Food Guide, after 4 years of food hunting as a student from University of Malaya. With this, I hope the new batch of students would have a greater picture of food around UM and PJ itself. On the other hand, to those who wish to hunt something light to fill your tummy or eating out in PJ, you are at the right post.

So, where is cheap and affordable to eat? That is for sure a common yet top priority question for students (well, at least for me!), although I know students nowadays like to go to fast food outlets or even restaurants even for an ordinary meal. Lavish… but not me.

First stop, Chuan Lee Restaurant, Jalan Bukit 11/2. The best way to describe the location is of course the same road down the hill at University Towers (UT). As you go down hill, the last shop on the row of shop houses on your left is the exact destination. Usually packed during lunch hours, it is a ideal location for students and working class people. Cheap hawker food with reasonably big portion can satisfy your gluttony at least for lunch. Read the rest of this entry »

First of all, I just wanna say Malaysia memang boleh. Slowmyx is really keeping me frustrated with their incredible speed… It took me 30 minutes just to load Google’s main page. How about that for a RM99 per month service I have to pay every month? Even better, my web host - TapakWeb is giving me insanely godlike services with downtime more than you can ever imagine. My website and mail servers are running as usual but it could be down for the next 24 hrs for no reasons. Worst is when they actually suspended my account saying that I did not pay up and asking me to contact billing/support staff that does not exist! Thumbs up Malaysia!

Now let’s go back to the food, shall we? My sincere apologies for the backdated posts that’s coming up within these few days. This time around I’ll be bring you guys an in depth focus of food in PJ, the famous hangout places for UM students. Begin with this special beef noodles from Uncle Cheng, from Kluang, Johor.

Located at Restaurant Khasiat, Seksyen 17, it is just somewhere close to Restaurant How Yee Kee and Kim Seng Cafe. Uncle Julian Cheng operated this stall, speaking real cool English with a motto:

Why bring home a cow? Let our special noodle do the moo!

Let’s check it out what he’s got to offer!
